How to Retain Customers Like a Boss

Jackie L.

Did you know that only 18% of businesses focus on customer retention?  The one way to easily make more money without spending more money is to retain loyal customers.  Those who have already purchased from you are going to be the easiest to sell to.  Why?  Because they already know, love, and have your product or service!  One of your main marketing tools should be retaining customers.

If you find that you are more focused on finding new customers than nurturing the relationships you have with current ones, let’s take a look at how you can turn that around.

Get Some Feedback

You may think your business is awesome, but what about your customers?  What do they think about your business?  Always seek out their feedback.  Without feedback, you may never know what needs to be improved, or what they truly love about your business.  There are many ways for you to get their feedback; try a survey in a purchase follow-up email, utilize the stories in Instagram or Facebook, or look at the reviews on your products or services.

Don’t Be Afraid to Apologize

Nobody likes a company that wrongs you and doesn’t say sorry.  We are all human, and humans make mistakes.  That’s why it’s so important to apologize when your company has made one.  If you take too much time to apologize to your customers, you risk losing them for good.  Plus, they will spread that your company isn’t worth doing business with to others.  Let customers know when you’ve made a mistake, and work to rectify it.  An apology can go a long way.

Make it Easy to Buy From You

In a world where everything just seems so difficult, make it a snap to purchase from you.  Customers love easy. The easier you make, the more likely they will purchase from you.  Find areas in your business where you can make purchasing as easy as 1-2-3.  Test out various methods to help make your website as user friendly as possible.

Start a Subscription Service

Customers want to feel special.  Subscription services are what your current customers will love.  This means they are in the inner circle of your business.  You can either have services, content, and so on for a monthly fee or for free!  Let them know the benefits of signing up for subscription services.  Once they know how much better it will make their life, they are sure to sign up.

Customer retention is so important for the success of a business.  Learn about your customer base with data, get personal, and know what will really make their lives continually better by purchasing from you.  Stop the hustle and start retaining those customers!
