It’s so important to know how to grow your business through social media, and Linkedin is a great asset for any business owner.  Whether you are connecting with professionals like yourself, or looking expand your reach to more customers, every business can benefit from having a Linkedin profile.  The official Linkedin page boasts over 467 million users worldwide, with around 40 million of them students or college graduates.

If you have a Linkedin account, you can definitely, and successfully, market on this social media platform.  We’re going to share some tips on how you can include Linkedin in your social media marketing strategy.

Post Content Regularly

Yes.  You can post content on Linkedin.  Sharing videos, articles or other content can increase your exposure on Linkedin.  While we always recommend creating and posting your own content is the best way to go, you can also post articles that you find relevant to your business and your community.  Anything that you believe would be helpful to your audience is a great content choice.

One of the best types of content to share or create would be thought leadership articles.  Thought leadership brings new and fresh ideas to the table, showcasing how valuable you and your business are to your existing and potential customers.

Recommending and Endorsing

After making a profile, be sure to get yourself some recommendations and endorsements from other professionals you look up to, or even from customers.  The more you have, the more enticing you and your business will look to others.

An endorsement is someone endorsing your skills that have been added to your profile.  The higher the number of endorsements you have from others, the better your business will look to prospective customers and clients.  However, you won’t be able to request other people to endorse you.

One option you can request from other professionals to raise the value of your profile is recommendations.  These are written forms of endorsement from people in your Linkedin connections.  You can also reciprocate written recommendations, which helps you build community.

Joining Groups and Creating Pages

There are numerous groups to join that will connect you to professionals like yourself and possible customers.  Groups are also an invaluable source of information to help keep you up-to-date in your industry.  You can create a group and start building a community or you can join existing groups that match your interests and values.

Company pages are a great way to get to know a company, especially when it comes to researching your competition.  For your own business, create a page that really showcases who you are and what you have to offer.  To further your reach, post jobs, recruitment videos for your company, and information about your services.  Once you have a rocking company page up, start inviting your employees, other professionals, and customers to become followers.

As you can see, Linkedin is another tool in your marketing strategy that can help you reach customers and tap into a large potential audience.  Have a look at Linkedin to see if it’s a social media platform that’s right for you.  If you find yourself having more questions about how to market through Linkedin, send us a message today!  We look forward to helping you
